As I wrote earlier, Ismael Dejesus is a guy who supposedly filmed the police shootout in Dallas and then called into CNN and walked Don Lemon through the footage and also offered a lengthy diatribe of his positions on terrorism and gun control for no apparent reason. The entire series of events seemed odd so I did some research and looked at his Facebook page, which I deemed to be fake. There is no other record of his existence outside of a Linkedin page which claims he’s from Orlando, went to Rutgers, and lives in Dallas. Weird. Not impossible, but weird.
I found it strange that a guy so articulate on the matter disappeared after his first media performance, and tried to contact him but received no response. I then went on Facebook and messaged over 40 of his Facebook friends until Facebook realized I was basically spamming people and stopped allowing me to do it, asking:
“Hi, do you know Ismael Dejusus?”
I received several responses from people claiming to know Dejesus. One told me to get lost. Another said he knew Dejesus “through the car scene.” Three others said they had met Dejesus and discontinued the conversation. All but one of these people’s profiles appeared to be fake. I then got a message from Alfonso Garcia:
Hi, do you know Ismael Dejesus?Alfonso Garcia accepted your request.I’m a journalist I’m trying to get ahold of him, as he recorded footage of that shootout in Dallas as you may or may not be aware.
